habitus* içselleşen sürdürülebilirlik aksiyonları

habitus* refers to the habits that people take from the society they belong to and internalize them individually. perşembe pazarı, a region of istanbul that was nourished by the production culture in the past, has become a trade and consumption-oriented place with the change brought by the industrial revolution and the socio-economic policy of the period. this region shadowed by the concrete identity of istanbul; it has been one of the regions with the most frequent vehicle use, the [highest energy consumption], and therefore the [highest carbon emissions].

“habitus” aims to sprout production habits out of the consumption culture through sustainable actions in perşembe bazaar, a region of Istanbul that is now abandoned to consumption and spending culture. with these sustainable actions, it is aimed to create a participatory, social and experience-based atmosphere by diversifying the existing user profile in the region. thus, while creating a space based on energy conversion-based production, the diversification of the existing user profile, alternative uses of the region, and the transformation of production into an observable, participatory system by moving away from the "producer-based" uniform action has been paved. with the spread of this system, sustainable actions that can be applied to many regions are envisaged, as a whole, changes in the urban culture and therefore in the behavior of individuals with a tendency towards sustainability.
